VTR: Why should we have a fear of God?br br ADNAN OKTAR: Why should we have a fear of God? Because, offending a loved one is a cause of great anguish. And since God is our most beloved, offending Him leads to an aching sense of loneliness and a terrible lack of love.  This is a grave agony, a major disaster. Being bereft of God's love is the greatest of all calamities. If ahlakıa person feels certain of having earned God's love and goes to hell -may God forbid-, that would spell the ruin of the person. This is why believers have a fear of God. They are afraid of losing God's love and offending him; thus, they glorify and intensify their love towards God, which makes them closer to Him.
