The lake isle of Innisfree W B Yeats

The lake isle of Innisfree W B Yeats

Yeats, one of Irelands great writers, wrote this poem when in London. My little video is in Deptford, London. On Dailymotion you can find WB Yeats actually reading this poem himself, even though he died in 1939. br br The lake isle of Innisfree br br I WILL arise and go now, and go to Innisfree, br And a small cabin build there, of clay and wattles made: br Nine bean-rows will I have there, a hive for the honey-bee, br And live alone in the bee-loud glade. br br And I shall have some peace there, for peace comes dropping slow, br Dropping from the veils of the mourning to where the cricket sings; br There midnight's all a glimmer, and noon a purple glow, br And evening full of the linnet's wings. br br I will arise and go now, for always night and day br I hear lake water lapping with low sounds by the shore; br While I stand on the roadway, or on the pavements grey, br I hear it in the deep heart's core. br br Que je me lève et je parte, que je parte pour Innisfree, br br Que je me bâtisse là une hutte, faite d'argile et de joncs. br br J'aurai neuf rangs de haricots, j'aurai une ruche br br Et dans ma clairière je vivrai seul, devenu la bruit des abeilles. br br ***Et, là, j'aurai quelque paix, car goutte à goutte la paix retombe br br Des brumes du matin sur l'herbe où le grillon chante, br br Et, là, minuit n'est qu'une lueur et midi est un rayon rouge br br Et d'ailes de passereaux déborde le ciel du soir. br br ***Que je me lève et je parte, car nuit et jour br br J'entends clapoter l'eau paisible contre la rive. br br Vais-je sur la grand route ou le pavé incolore, br br Je l'entends dans l'âme du coeur. br br ***W.B.
