Preparing your child for the spelling bee can be fun. Firstly children will need to be able to read the list. Price reading each word with your child. You can clap and sing each word. Break down each word for your child so they learn how to sound it out! Get your thrass chart out and find the sounds. When you have done this ground work then move onto copying each word. Then you can ask your child to spell each word as you call it out. If you find they are still not getting each word go back and keep building the foundation. Consider if your child can read each word, clap each word, and breakdown each word! Remember to encourage your child as learning to spell is a long road!
