Look at some of the great anarchist in American culture, for example Kurt Cobain and Heath Ledger. Cobain's music was about anarchy and Ledger portrayed the Joker almost literally as an omnipotent god of anarchy. If you're only willing to inflict anarchy on others and not yourself then you're really just a base criminal.
