My family still live in Inner Mongolia in the northern part of China, where I visit each year and pick-up new AsianChinese recipes.\rbr\rbrIngredients:\rbr200 – 250g Sirloin Steak\rbr5g Ginger\rbr3 Cloves Garlic\rbr2 Spring Onions\rbr1 Red Chilli Pepper\rbr1 Tbsp Soy Sauce\rbr1 Tbsp Sugar\rbr1 Tsp Coarse Black Pepper\rbr3 -4 Tbsp Cornflour\rbrSalt to Taste\rbr\rbrMethod:\rbr 1. Finely chop the garlic, ginger and spring onions.\rbr 2. Thinly slice the chilli pepper.\rbr 3. Cut the steak into thin strips.\rbr 4. Place the steak into a mixing bowl and add the cornflour.\rbr 5. Toss the meat and ensure an even coverage.\rbr 6. Heat half litre of oil in the wok until smoking hot.\rbr 7. Place the meat into the hot oil, stir and deep fry for a minute. Remove the meat and discard the oil.\rbr 8. Heat 1 Tbsp oil in the same wok and add the garlic, ginger and black pepper, and fry for few seconds.\rbr 9. Add the beef, spring onion, chilli pepper and stir.\rbr10. Add the soy sauce, sugar, salt and stir.\rbr11. Add about 100ml of water or stock.\rbr12. Transfer onto a dish, serve and enjoy.
