However, our mothers have researched it thoroughly and are totally okay with us personally using borax in the making of our slime. We use an extremely diluted solution (1 teaspoon to one cup of water and then only a few teaspoons of the diluted borax water in our slime). Yes weve all seen the viral video of a poor girl who suffered a bad reion to her hands when using borax in her slime. However, lets not forget that millions of people have made slime with borax again and again without any problems at all. If you fear you may be sensitive to borax you should just not use it and should research another slime recipe instead. At the very least be sure to wash your hands thoroughly when making slime. \rbr\rbrWHERE DO I BUY BORAX?\rbrIf you live in Australia you can find the BORAX we used at Coles supermarkets for $4.00 in the cleaning section! You can also find it at Bunnings Warehouse and some IGA supermarkets. If you live somewhere where you cant find borax you could try Buffered Saline Solution or Cont Lens Cleaner which lists boric acid or sodium borate. There are lots of Youtube tutorials that make slime without borax so perhaps check them out. We have found when using saline solution that the slime lasts only a day or two whereas slime made with borax can last months.Different glues work better than others however so its certainly worth a try with saline solution if you cant find borax.\rbr\rbrWHERE DO I BUY ELMERS GLUE?\rbrHere in Australia it says on the Elmers website that its sold at Woolworths and Officeworks but every store we have tried has said it has since been discontinued. Others have said they found it at Officeworks its worth a try. Others have also said its sold at Harvey Normans but I havent been to see for myself. Instead, we have successfully used white Bostiks glue from Officeworks and the clear Stuk brand glue sold at lots of $2 shops. The glue in the glue pens makes the slime smell after a while so we recommend the glue in the bottles as we havent had a problem with that.
