LEARN TO STOP WITHOUT HEEL BRAKES ON ROLLERBLADES - Bill Stoppard Breakdown

Learn to Stop Like Bill Stoppard. This is the most effective way to stop without a heel brake.\rbr\rbrBill Stoppards method of stopping combines a drag stop with a powerslide. This combination results in a reliable and efficient stop on all surfaces.\rbr\rbrCues for learning this technique are:\rbr\rbrDrag, Lunge, Rotate and Push.\rbr\rbrPrise the B Stop first on the spot. This will help build the muscle memory and will result in an accelerated learning curve.\rbr\rbrThe B Stop is set up with a proper predator position. \rbr(more on the predator here - \rbr\rbrBill transitions from a predator to a drag stop by transferring weight 100 to the front foot. The back foot initiates a the drag stop by rotating the hip out and gently placing the back foot down on inside edge at about 75 degree angle, measuring from the front foot. Weight is then gently transferred 40 to the back foot to create the drag stop.\rbr(more on the drag stop here - \rbr\rbrFrom the drag stop position Bill transitions to the lunge position by lunging forward creating a larger space between his legs and placing 80 of weight on front foot. In the lunge position the front foot moves to the outside edge. Bill then rotates his body 90 degrees. During the rotation edging remains the same and weight is transferred to 3rd wheel on stopping foot and second wheel on the balancing foot. The push is created by applying 99 of weight on stopping foot and driving through the heels of the stopping foot.\rbr\rbrThanks for watching.
