The Prepositions Class Game -- How to teach Prepositions

An exciting game using simple, everyday objects to help students price using prepositions of location in English.\rbr\rbrHow to play:\rbr\rbrMake sure students have adequate knowledge of the items used (0:21) as well as the prepositions used (1:21).\rbr\rbrPlace a table and a chair at the front of the classroom and leave plenty of space for movement around them. \rbr\rbrSelect one student from each team (A and B). Have the student from team A stand near the table and the student from team B stand near the chair. Put the objects listed at the start of the video in front of the students on the floor so they can reach them easily. \rbr\rbrHave the two students listen to the voice recording (e.g. “The ball is on the chair. The ball is under the table.”) and let them compete to see who can be the first to put the object in the correct place according to the instructions.\rbr\rbrThe team whose instruction is read first will have the advantage, but this changes every round. \rbr\rbrAward one point for correctly placing the object according to the instructions and one bonus point to the faster of the two students to place the object correctly. If only one student places the object correctly, give him or her 2 points. No points are awarded for incorrect placements. \rbr\rbrContinue until all the students in the class have had a turn andor all 13 rounds have been completed.
