Footage has emerged of a crowd in southern Catalonia blocking a highway to protest the imprisonment of eight members of the regional government. br br The video, captured this morning (November 3), shows dozens of people sitting on the middle of a highway in Les Cases d'Alcanar, forcing traffic to come to a standstill.br br The protesters can be seen clapping hands as they shout, "Libertat (freedom)!"br br According to local reports, several highways and railways have been shut down by demonstrators today in the region.br br A judge in Madrid sitting on Spain’s national court jailed eight former Catalan government ministers on November 2 while they are investigated on possible charges of sedition, rebellion and misuse of public funds.
