Watch as we do a Cold Start on our 1958 Porsche 356 A Cab after not running for several weeks. It isnt difficult, but with the carburetors completely dry and using the original fuel pump, it can take up to a minute of cranking to start. This is an important step as it lubricates the engine with a minimum of load on the internal rotary bits. We have an Optima 6V battery installed that we keep on a Battery Tender so it is always fully charged and cycled. The starter is in good shape and had its shaft bushing replaced the last time we replaced the clutch a few years ago.\rbr\rbrAfter the car is running, we go for a nice little ride on some of the back roads here in Colorado.
