Affin Hwang Capital said that the banking system's loan growth as at August 2014 was up 4.6 per cent year to date which trailed its 2014 target of 9 per cent due to higher repayments.br br However it said that its channel checks revealed that certain sectors of the banking sector may witness a pick up in loan growth in the second half of the year.
