THE NOMAD TRAVELLER presesnts BANDHAVGARH NATIONAL PARK - MADHYA PRADESH br br Bandhavgarh was instituted as National Park in 1968, br before being instituted the areas around Bandhavgarh br were a game reserve for Royal Families of India with no br conservation measures in place. br br Bandhavgarh National Park is approximately 450 square br kilometres of park are open to tourist and has a br population of around 60 tigers. The park is mainly br dense forest of mainly Sal and Bamboo constituting the br hilly areas of the park and a mixed diversity of forest br in the valleys and slopes. br br Bandhavgarh National Park is also home to a varied br population of wild life such as the Cheetal, Axis, br Panthera Pardus, Leopards, Indian Bison, Sambhar, br The Barking Deer, Blue Bull ( Neelgai), Caracal, br wolf and the hyena amongst other small and other species br of animals are found in the Park. br br A lesser known major fact about the Bandhavgarh National br Park is that most of the tigers in Bandhavgarh are br the descendents of a famous tiger called "CHARGER".
