Whitney and her family head to the white sandy beaches of Longboat Key, Florida. The ocean was super calm, so there was no boogie boarding or surfing to be done. But, the conditions were perfect for some gymnastics on the beach…as well as swimming, snorkeling, and goofing around. The GoPro was fun for checking out the underwater sea life, which happened to include a mermaid! According to local legend he believed the Indians were hostile and when they reached land on the island and fled leaving their Longboat in a bayou. Pirate Jean Lafitte was said to have been shipwrecked near or on Longboat Key.
