A pod of false killer whales were captured squeaking and frolicking off the coast of Agnes Water near the southern barrier reef on December 25.

False killer whales, the third largest species of dolphins, received their name because they resemble Orcas, according to the Smithsonian. They’re highly social mammals and are known for cross-species bonding, according to a Scientific American study that observed them swimming with bottlenose dolphins over years.
