Original Song | Shadows

This was written around variants upon C, D, and E. But that’s no fun, so they’re all crazy like Dadd9add11 or E7sus4, etc. This was one that I was just smiling and giggling like a tiny child the whole time I wrote it, because the guitar is so fun to play! The writing process was like a whimsical math problem with your fingers, and with extra creativity and exploration.br br As I was playing the guitar and smiling like an idiot, I knew that the song was going to be caleld Shadows. From there, Plato asserted himself. Personally, I don’t typically agree with Plato’s philosophies, but I do appreciate a lot of Plato’s fundamental groundwork. br br I am also quite taken with his noticeable absence within his own writings. We assume that we know Plato’s viewpoints from his allegories, but he was always very careful to stay out of his own work. I oftentimes wonder how much of it was posited arguendo or ironically. He never spoke with his own voice, and I feel like he told us something in his distinct silence.
