Six B-52 Stratofortress aircraft deployed to Guam

GUAM — America's Air Force is sending half-a-dozen B-52 heavy bombers to Guam.br br Six B-42H Stratofortress bombers, along with 300 airmen, are being deployed from Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana to Guam. Those aircraft have an operational range of 8,800 miles.br br The B-52 is capable of flying at speeds at 1,037 km per hour, or Mach. 0.86, at a br height of 50,000 feet while carrying a nuclear payload. br br According to Technical Specifications on Boeing, the aircraft's wingspan measures 56.4 meters, while it's length and height are 48,5m and 12.4m respectively. Its powered by 8 Pratt and Whitney engines that can provide up to 17,000 lbs of thrust.br br Those engines can support a maximum take off weight of 480,000 lbs including a crew of five, 312,197 lbs of fuel and 70,000 lbs of armaments.
