The Moscow protest was one of multiple nationwide protests that Navalny supporters took part in.ppNavalny had calleda for the demonstrations to take place after he was disqualified from standing in the 2018 Russian presidential election due to a criminal record stemming from 2013 embezzlement charges. Navalny and his supporters claim the charges were politically motivated.ppOn the same day as the nationwide protests, police officers raided Navalny’s officesa in Moscow, claiming that they were investigating a bomb threat, according to a spokeswoman for Navalny.
