Soi Buakhao in the Daytime - Pattaya Vlog 148

Soi Buakhao in the Daytime - Pattaya Vlog 148\rbr\rbr A video from April 2017 showing some sights from the Soi Buakhao area of Pattaya in the daytime.\rbr\rbrParts of this video include:\rbr0:04 Changing hotels from Opey De Place to the D Hotel\rbr2:23 After checking in\rbr4:11 First bad meal at Jollys\rbr5:05 Hungover around lunchtime on Soi Buakhao\rbr6:06 One of the many clinics around in Pattaya\rbr6:32 Very popular cheap Thai food restaurant\rbr8:10 Market stall t-shirts available\rbr8:47 Colins golf bar, one of the many Pattaya places that organise golf days\rbr9:55 What Mercedes model is this?\rbr11:00 Opening time for a bar with good luck rituals\rbr11:44 Thai shaved ice dessert\rbr12:38 Outro from the crazy horse circus bar in Patong\rbr\rbrIf you are thinking of booking a Pattaya hotel there are 2 guides on the website now including essential booking tips:\rbr\rbr$50+ Pattaya hotels: \rbr$20-40 Pattaya hotels \rbr\rbr\rbrAdditional Notes:\rbr\rbr The hotels in this video were Opey De Place and the D Hotel, full reviews will be coming shortly. For more info on these hotels see here: \rbr\rbr Rain showers dont usually last all that long in Thailand, but the Soi Buakhao area of Pattaya has very poor drainage in places as you can see from the filthy puddle near the Nikom Court intersection.\rbr\rbrSoi Buakhao baht buses\rbr\rbr As of April 2017 baht buses were running both ways on Soi Buakhao with a ride costing 10 baht. One heads to South Pattaya road and the final drop off is near Walking street, the other heads to central Pattaya road and drops passengers off near second road or beach road depending on the drivers route.\rbr\rbr These baht buses are one of the reasons I love staying on Soi Buakhao when in Pattaya. You can get almost anywhere central fast for just 10 baht. Also if you are in a rush, the mototaxis are a reasonable 40 baht for a journey which is excellent value too. \rbr\rbrJollys food\rbr\rbr I was overdue a bad meal at Jollys, and my full English Breakfast on this day had poorly cooked fried eggs and bacon that was so underdone I had to send it back to the kitchen. The Sportsman on Pattaya Soi 13 has now been promoted to my new favourite if you are interested.\rbr\rbrPattaya Clinics\rbr\rbr There are a few of these dotted around the city, and the ones on Soi Buakhao are just as good as any. Im not saying you should 100 go here instead of a hospital, but if you have a minor niggling health concern these clinics are cheap, fast and have seen everything 1000s of times before.\rbr\rbr Maybe visit a clinic to put your mind to rest and get some quick treatment, then re-check at a proper hospital if your symptoms persist later. \rbr\rbrVery Popular Thai Restaurant\rbr\rbr Opposite the Sports World Bar on Soi Buakhao I was amazed at how busy the understated Thai restaurant was around lunchtime. So many expats and locals were dropping by for their lunch, some were ordering many dishes for takeaway too. \rbr\rbr When I peered inside later on every seat in the down to earth restaurant was taken and their menu was typical of a Raan Ahaan place in Thailand. Meaning many rice and noodle dishes were available to be cooked to order. The service girl was particularly frumpy with me which is completely standard in cheap but good Thai food restaurants.\rbr\rbrColins Golf Bar\rbr\rbr Its good to have hobbies, and golf is one of the many things available in Pattaya. Especially to the many single (lonely) expats and long term holiday guys a social game like golf can be a godsend. Clubs can be rented on the day or a set can be bought cheap locally in one of the many golf shops in Pattaya.\rbr\rbrMassage lady\rbr\rbr My rule of thumb is the older and more unattrive your massage lady is the better your massage will be. There are some exceptions to this rule, and something tells me that the older athletic looking massage lady in this video would give an amazing oil massage ;)\rbr\rbrThai Shaved ice dessert\rbr\rbr Thai desserts are often so sickly sweet they are unpalatable to Westerners. This dessert is no different, the ice shavings are covered with sweet sauces and condiments meaning I could never think about eating.\rbr\rbrThe ice used in Thailand is made from purified water, and not straight from the tap. I drink beer over ice occasionally, and also have the odd whiskey in the bars with ice in. Ive never been sick from the ice in Thailand, for more info about ice in Thailand see here: \rbr\rbrThank you for watching and subscribe for more videos.
