Lets make a Simple Electric Car - based on cheap vibrating electric toothbrush

This toy car is based on the cheap vibrating electric toothbrush that is available from my local Poundland shop. This gives us a handy self contained power unit holding the motor, the battery, and the onoff switch.\rbr\rbrIf you cannot obtain one of these toothbrushes then you will have to source the motor from somewhere else, perhaps a broken toy car or an old tape cassette player.\rbrYou will also need to mount the battery and find (or make) a suitable onoff switch.\rbrThere are other small electric powered items that are even easier to use because they dont have that weight on the shaft. Things like hand held battery operated fans, nasal hair trimmers, beard trimmers, lint removers. I have used them all.\rbr\rbrI use hot-glue because it makes life very easy. If you cannot use hot-glue then sticky tape will hold the axle tubes in place and possibly the electric motor if you are lucky. You might need to make a cardboard bracket to make it more secure.\rbrSticking the two bottle tops together might be more challenging. You will need something sticky, maybe that tape that is sticky on both sides.\rbr\rbrThis car is loosely based on the one shown on this link by imunkedal\rbr\rbrHis build is spread over 3 videos and is excellent.\rbr\rbrComponents\rbr-\rbrSheet of cardboard\rbr4 milk bottle tops\rbr1 smaller bottle top\rbr1 drinking straw\rbrThin garden cane or\rbrbamboo skewer\rbrCheap vibrating toothbrush\rbror a small electric motor\rbrand a battery\rbr\rbrTools\rbr-\rbrHot Glue Gun\rbrScissors or hobby knife\rbrHobby saw or junior hacksaw\rbrBradawl or pointy item\rbr\rbrTo remove the weight from the motor in the vibrating toothbrush you will need a small hammer, a thin nail, a block of wood and a metal plate with a slot in it. I show how to do this in the video using some small pliers in place of the metal plate but I think I will do a short Help File video to cover this as a separate project as people may find it helpful.\rbr\rbrHelpfile - removing offset weight from motor of Dr fresh Velocity Toothbrush \rbr\rbrIf you need guidance on making the CD wheels here is my old helpfile.\rbr\rbrHere is my old helpfile for putting rubber tyres on CDs\rbr\rbrHere is my old help file on connecting rubber bands \rbrHere is a very similar car using a Handheld Fan as the Electric Power Unit \rbr\rbr\rbrElectric Toy Cars \rbrToy Cars \rbrRubber Band Power \rbrRubber Band Cars \rbrBargain Store Projects \rbr\rbrMy Channel page \rbrOldest videos \rbrMost Popular \rbrNewest videos \rbrPlaylists \rbrI have thousands of videos on YouTube, to find one try my search guides or \rbrMy GrandadsOtherChannel channel is generally where I will host the videos that give extra detail or longer versions of the videos I post on my main channel \rbr\rbrFacebook \rbrMerchandise - Check both of these links if you are interested as the prices will vary and the shipping charges will be different.
