Frozen Oobleck Crushed In Hydraulic Press | Non Newtonian Fluid

In this video I crush frozen oobleck in a hydraulic press. I have had many requests to crush a non-newtonian fluid like oobleck in a hydraulic press. I did it in a previous video and someone suggested that I should freeze it and then crush it in the hydraulic press and see what happens. So I did it! A non-newtonian fluid means that the viscosity of the fluid is a function of the shear rate on the fluid. So for oobleck, the harder you press on it, the higher its viscosity gets. This is due to the long molecular chains of cornstarch that are tangled together. They cannot move fast past each other, they have to move slowly. If you would like to make your own oobleck here is the recipe I used:\rbr1.
