The BJP and Trinamool Congress are in a direct face-off over the violence that has started and spread across West Bengal in the aftermath of Ram Navami celebrations. The BJP says that it is a blowback of the continuous minority appeasement by the West Bengal government. TMC said that there was deliberate attempt to ensure that Asansol remains on edge. Police had filed an FIR against Union minister and Asansol BJP MP Babul Supriyo for violating prohibitory orders and misbehaving with an IPS officer. Supriyo, in turn, lodged a complaint against the police personnel for misbehaving with him.
