Kaynine said, "Many years ago, I used to make hand-painted chessboards with various designs underlying the grid pattern. (eg: islands, mysterious landscapes, interlocking shapes of animals etc). br br As part of the wedding present for our daughter, she asked me to make one for her and her fiance using the idea of animal shapes. And so, over 25 years since making my last chessboard, I made this one. br br This 'movie' is an image of the final board which has within it 77 shapes. These are listed down each side. br br The shields on two opposing sides mark the positions for the King and Queen. The other shields show either the emblem for each 'army' or contain information about when the board was made and for whom. br br So - if you fancy a challenge, see how many of the 77 you can find. Many are quite easy, but others are very well hidden. The full-circle rotation takes several minutes.
