J Muthukumaran (34), a goldsmith from Vishwanathan Pillai Street here, has created a miniature cricket World Cup trophy less than 2 cm in height with just 720 milligrams (mg) of gold.br br Muthukumaran had been making jewellery for the last 20 years and had an urge to do something different. First I made a ‘thali’ using 90mg of gold, then I created a ring with 40mg of gold, a miniature ceiling fan with 840mg of gold, a small cradle using 3 grams of gold and a hand pump with 12 grams of silver,” Muthukumaran said.br br In 2013, he made a miniature of the Taj Mahal with 8.200 grams of gold for which he got a prize from the Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy.br br “Now I have created a miniature of the cricket World Cup trophy. It took me two days to complete.
