Uttapam is a popular South Indian recipe. We have made Uttapam with a bit of twist by adding bread as an ingredient. This is a kind of vegan Indian recipe with just yoghurt used.\rbrKids will like this uttapam for sure.\rbrFull recipe: \rbr\rbrSign-up Form : \rbr\rbrIngredients for bread uttapam:\rbr4 slices of bread\rbr½ Cup SujiSemolina\rbr2 Tablespoon All-purpose flour\rbr½ Cup Yogurt\rbr1 Tablespoon finely chopped Yellow bell pepper\rbr1 Tablespoon finely chopped Capsicum\rbr2 medium sized finely chopped Onions\rbr1 small finely chopped tomatoes (without seeds)\rbrFinely chopped Coriander leaves\rbr1 tsp Ginger (grated or paste)\rbrChopped green chilly \rbrSalt to taste\rbrOil for cooking\rbr¼ cup of water or as required\rbr\rbrHow to make uttapam:\rbrTrim the sides of bread.\rbr\rbrTake a bowl and cut or break all the bread into small pieces so that it will get blended easily.\rbr\rbrTake a mixer grinder and put SemolinaSuji, all purpose flourmaida, yogurt, bread slices, and water, grind it into a thick, smooth and fine paste.\rbr\rbrTake out the batter in a deep bowl and add all the veggies yellow bell pepper, chopped capsicum, chopped onions, chopped tomatoes, ginger, coriander leaves, salt to taste and mix until well combined.\rbr\rbr Batter should be in pouring consistency. It should not neither very thick nor runny so add water accordingly.\rbrHeat a non stick pan on medium heat and spread little oil on it. \rbrWhen the tawa is hot enough take a spoonful of batter and spread in circular motion to make uttappam. Size of the uttappam depends upon the batter you have taken to spread.\rbrSince we are making uttappam so it should be slightly thick pancakes.\rbr\rbrTo make Spicy Bread Uttappam- Put some chopped green chilly on top and Drizzle oil all around the edges of Bread uttappam.(do not put green chilly while making for kids).\rbr\rbrAfter 2 minutes flip it over, drizzle some oil and cook from another side.\rbr\rbrCook bread uttappam from both the sides on medium flame till it turns golden brown.\rbr\rbrServe Bread Uttappam with coriander chutney, mint chutney, nariyal chutney or any chutney or sauce of your choice. \rbr\rbrYou can serve this Bread Uttappam with sambhar also.
