How to Make Chicken Teriyaki Dinner ~ Japanese Food\r
\r
INGREDIENTS:\r
1 1/2-2 pounds skinless boneless chicken thighs - cubed\r
oil\r
\r
Teriyaki sauce:\r
1/3 cup soy sauce\r
1/3 cup water\r
1 minced clove garlic\r
1 tsp. grated ginger\r
1-2 tbsp. brown sugar\r
2 tbsp. honey\r
2 tbsp. rice vinegar\r
1 tbsp. mirin\r
1/4 tsp sesame oil\r
\r
Slurry to thicken:\r
1 tbsp. cornstarch\r
1-2 tbsp. water\r
\r
In a bowl mix all ingredients for sauce and set to the \r
side. \r
\r
In a skillet on medium high add oil and cubed chicken.\r
Cook 1-2 minutes on each side and remove from the heat.\r
\r
In same pan on medium heat slowly add teriyaki sauce.\r
Bring up to a simmer, cook and reduce for 4-5 minutes.\r
Add chicken and juices back into pan. \r
Bring up to simmer and cook for 5-8 more minutes.\r
Sauce will reduce and thicken.\r
\r
If you want it thicker you can add the slurry. \r
Add just a little at a time.\r
Stir and remove from heat.\r
\r
Serving tonite with rice and fresh sauteed veggies.\r
Enjoy.\r
