On Thursday he was spotted hanging out with rock stars Chris Martin and Bono.
But on Saturday Sean Penn enjoyed some alone time as he strolled around Malibu, California with his golden retriever.
The 57-year-old actor sported a brace on his right wrist.
The I Am Sam actor went casual for the excursion, pairing gray jeans with a gray T-shirt.
Over the top he slipped a navy bomber jacket for the cool Spring day and on his feet he wore flip flops.
At one point the Academy Award winner stopped to enjoy an iced coffee.
