The ferry Antares navigates every day along the Amalfi Coast and in the Gulf of Naples. It is equipped with twin Volvo Penta D13 engines (6 cylinders and 12,780 cc) with IPS pod drive and joystick, the same propulsion system used by the yachts (but rated at 700 hp instead 900 hp to achieve maximum reliability). Volvo Penta IPS is able to reduce consumption by 30 compared with conventional propulsion, even on a ferry boat.
