The Houston Chronicle reporteda on June 19 that 1 to 3 inches of rain was predicted, but areas could receive up to 6 inches.ppCars were reporteda to be submerged by the flood water and several roads were closed in Weslaco and the surrounding area.ppClasses at school districts, colleges and universities were cancelled or postponed on June 20 due to the inclement weather and flooding, according to reporting from The Monitora. Other offices and government buildings were also closed for portions of the day on June 20.ppOther regions of Texas, including the Houston area, experienced rain and flash flooding on June 19.
