Down in the NBA D-League getting some seasoning, DeAndre' Bembry has all of the tools in the making to be a solid NBA contributor for the Atlanta Hawks for years to come.
At 6'6, with nearly a seven-foot wingspan, Bembry can glide to the basket and get his shot off in a variety of ways. His heady play and a high IQ also make him a menace on defense, able to switch across the board.
I spoke with Bembry following his quick stint for the D-League Salt Lake City Stars, just before he was shuttled away by a team spokesman to his plane, as Bembry was recalled by the Hawks Sunday afternoon.
