Kostas Mitroglou was proving a handful for the Monaco defence and, after a pair of chances, the Greek striker finally got his name on the scoresheet with the last act of the half, rising highest to meet a sweet Dimitri Payet cross for 1-0 to Marseille. This was a superlative performance from the central forward, making his first start of the season, preferred to Valère Germain. Mitroglou had five shots on goal and might have had a hat-trick on another day.
