Period pianos bring new twist to Poland’s Chopin competition

br Thirty pianists from around the globe take part in Poland’s first international Frederic Chopin piano competition to be held on period instruments. Competitors can choose among pianos dating back to the 19th century bearing names like Pleyel, Erard and Buchholtz, models which Chopin himself played.
