Speakers' Corner: ALLAYING FEARS ABOUT RUSSIA

SPEAKERS' CORNER in the north-eastern extremity of London's Hyde Park since the late 19th century has been a place of dissent and debate.br br HUE, as usual, welcomes You to Speakers' Corner; differentiates between his own outlook, and those of the other Orators ~ before going on to talk about recent developments in early Twenty Fourteen with the world-wide concern about Russia's moves relative to Ukraine.br br "In recent years with the invention of the camcorder," says HUE, an orator at the Corner since 1987, "which I think is the greatest thing to have happened to Speakers' Corner ~ it's all too easy to come steal a slice of FREE speech (where anonymous souls are caught unawares bickering) and then upload that to YouTube with no context, no structure, no beginning and usually no editorial end.br br "By way of contrast, I try to make proper little films.br br "My videos, which are now uploaded also to Dailymotion and Vimeo, they don't mock the afflicted. If they did, I'd feel ashamed of myself. Knocking the poor buggers who shout and bawl and berate ~ it's TOO EASY. It's hackneyed; done to death... these people who put such videos on the Web ~ I would have more respect for them if they took candy from a baby."br br Hue’s videos require quite a bit more of the viewer. "But you might find you actually get something back, something POSITIVE.
