The New Romantic is a Canadian romantic comedy film, directed by Carly Stone and released in 2018. The film stars Jessica Barden as Blake, a young woman who is frustrated by the lack of romance in her life and scared by her impending graduation from journalism school, and agrees to experiment with becoming a sugar baby to a wealthy older man in the hope that writing about her experience will win her the $50,000 prize in an upcoming journalism competition.
