Having spent most of the game watching the action unfold at from a distance at the other end of the pitch during goalless draw between Nîmes and Reims, Édouard Mendy was called into action multiple times in the final half-hour. The Senegalese goalkeeper scrambled brilliantly to keep out a Baptiste Guillaume header at the 66th minute and stuck a foot out to deny Clément Depres only two minutes later.
