Ruling party, government discuss ways to boost capital market

Representatives of South Korea's ruling party and the government have discussed ways to stimulate the nation's capital market… by helping innovative companies raise more funds.br At a meeting on Thursday..., the ruling Democratic Party of Korea and the government agreed to increase limits on public offerings with small volumes. br Companies will be able to offer between 2-point-6 million and 8-point-8 million U.S. dollars of stocks depending on the amount they can raise.br This is up from the current 8-hundred-78-thousand dollar limit.br They will also ease regulations on creating private equity funds, and strengthen measures to protect investors.br The government says it will provide a more comprehensive plan by early next year.
