Amid warnings by the weather officials, the residents of Delhi woke up to a thick blanket of smog just two days before Diwali. The level of the pollutant was at a "hazardous" 644 today. This is over 20 times the safe limit prescribed by the whom, visibility on the roads was low despite of control measures implemented by the government. The supreme court has banned the sales of polluting crackers in the national capital, but now the question is that is the ban enough to curb the pollution emergency in city?
