In response to that revolt the Temple was destroyed. Torn down completely, exactly as Jesus prophesized, not one stone left on another.br br br They plundered Jerusalem -- taking the Temple treasures off to Rome. br br When Titus entered Rome, boasting of his victory br and showing off the spoils -- the Ark of the Covenant was not among them. br br Perhaps then the rumors were true -- and the Holy of Holies had indeed been empty.
