US vice-president Mike Pence told Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad that he agreed with the assertion that to combat terrorism, there was a need to go back to the root causes.
Both leaders spent a few minutes exchanging notes after the Asean-US summit in Singapore on Thursday where Pence told leaders that there is no place for "empire and aggression" in the Indo-Pacific region at the opening of the summit.
