Kevin Hart Receives Oscar Host Backlash After Past Homophobic Jokes

Almost immediately after being br named the host for the 2019 Oscars, br Hart is under fire for his past remarks. Benjamin Lee, film writer and journalist, brought attention to a segment from Hart's 2010 comedy special, 'Seriously Funny.' Hart told 'Rolling Stone' in 2015 that br the joke had to do with his own insecurities, br not his opinion of the LGBTQ community. Hart was previously accused of br being homophobic in 2015 for br prison jokes in the movie, 'Get Hard.' The amount of queer films in the br running for Oscars this year could br further fuel the fire over Hart hosting. The 91st Academy Awards br will air on February 24, 2019.
