According to Reuters, Citigroup gave a boost to the S&P 500, but tech and industrial stocks dragged on the benchmark index.br Citigroup announced its fourth-quarter earnings on Jan. 14th, which led to a 4-percent rally.br Those gains propped up the S&P's financial sector by eight-tenths of a percent.br But the S&P's tech sector offset those gains by falling eight-tenths of a percent.br Only one of the S&P's top eleven sectors were trading up by the afternoon, but the market was only down half a percent.
