Based on the life of former Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray, the movie “Thackeray” released on January 25 and saw supportersfans celebrating outside the theatres in Mumbai. The movie is directed by Abhijit Panse and Nawazuddin Siddiqui portrays the character of Bal Thackeray. A special screening of the movie was also held in Mumbai earlier. Thackeray released on the same day as Kangana Ranaut-starrer “Manikarnika: Queen of Jhansi”.
