Actors from the film fraternity were awarded with Padma Shri. Among the actors were Kader Khan who received the award posthumously. Other who received the award were Manoj Bajpayee and south Indian actor Mohanlal. Singer Shankar Mahadevan and dancerproducer Prabhu Deva was also honored with the award.
