However, the earlier sacred texts do not mention Marichi as one of these seven seers.br br 5 There is another classification which states that he is one of the ten Prajapatis - the rulers of people who were created by Brahma.br br 6 He got married to Kala (she is named Dharmavrata in other adaptations) and they gave birth to the revered Vedic sage called Maharishi Kashyapa.br br 7 As per the Jain scriptures, Marichi was the son of Bharata Chakravartin and is said to have later reincarnated as the twenty-fourth Tirthankara called Mahavira Swami.br br 8 The famous Yogic pose called Marichyasana is dedicated to this great sage.
