Ostensibly, taking cue from Talibanis Maoists thrashed two persons mercilessly in the district while alleging them of extorting money from villagers. However, it is not clear who were the two persons but TV footage showed their hands were tied and a person, allegedly Maoist, bludgeoning them with a baton. It looked like a kangaroo court which naxals usually hold for handing over punishment to their culprits. br The scene of beating was quite akin to any Talibani manner in which they thrash any of their hostages. It is also yet not obvious at which place the incident took place. But, media report suggests the crime occurred in a village somewhere near Bihar-Jharkhand border. It is said that the hostages were beaten on the pretext of extorting money from villager in the guise of naxals. Meanwhile, the district police could not confirm the veracity of the incident. br SP Vivek Raj said that he would investigate the occurrence and would take action against those involved in beating.
