A day after Babu Singh Kushwaha was welcomed into the party folds, Sakshi Maharaj, a former rape accused has been given a ticket for the assembly polls.He will be contesting from Bhongaon in Western UP. A former Samajwadi Party MP, Maharaj faced charges of raping two women in 2000 and had to spend a month in Tihar and Etah jails. He was exonerated in 2001 due to lack of evidence.
