United States of America has stepped up diplomatic pressure on China over self immolations by Tibetans, protesting against the latter. The US summit committee has passed a bill which calls for China to cease repressive policies against Tibetans. Over 19 Tibetans have died in the past year protesting against the Chinese rule in Tibet. China has blamed Dalai Lama for instigating these immolations.
