Rising crime and high handedness by ruling Samajwadi party workers have become the order of the day in Uttar Pradesh. An FIR was lodged against a sitting SP MLA for allegedly threatening a police officer in Allahabad district, a senior officer said. The in-charge of Sadabad police outpost, Harbansh Singh Yadav, has accused MLA Mahendra Narain Singh of issuing threats to him and using foul language over phone, IG B P Singh said. He said that on the basis of Yadav's allegation an FIR was lodged against the MLA from Handiya under various sections of the IPC.
