For the residents of Lucknow, the most memorable image of Rajnath Singh is as the state's chief minister between 2000-2002. The sleeves of his white kurta rolled up to his elbows, in his short term as the UP CM managed to make a dent in people's memories. He is quite different from the two BJP MPs Lucknow has seen -- the poet-at-heart Atal Bihari Vajpayee and the benign Babuji next door, Lalji Tandon.
