Speaking to the press after a meeting of the NDA constituents, senior BJP leader LK Advani said, "We talked about the way forward, today's meeting was to analyse the situation not to name a candidate." Advani said, "Let the UPA first announce its candidate, we will watch every development closely." He also used the opportunity to slam the Manmohan Singh-led government, he said, "There is a total lack of coherence in the government and intense distrust at the higher level as never seen before.
