Over 400 MPs past and present owe MTNL over Rs 7 crore in pending telephone bills. The bills have not been for over a decade now. What's even more shocking is that the phone lines can't even be cut since the MPs enjoy immunity. The MTNL said it was filing its up-to-date responses in the Delhi High Court in response to a public interest litigation filed by NGO Krishak Bharat against Union of India regarding recovery of outstanding dues on MPs.
